Just a quick post from an internet cafe in Chiang Mai Thailand :) The past days have been full and wonderfully refreshing. My parents came to visit me and my team in Dalat for several days, and then we were in Bangkok together, and now I am in Chian Mai for our organization's annual conference. It's been so sweet to have this time with mom and dad, and I will meet up with them after conference in Cambodia to see some work going on there!
And I'm also really thankful for a unique opportunity we had to visit the AMAZING Bumrungrad International (5-star-facility and service) Hospital in Bangkok. We went to seek further help for my allergies... which had gotten much worse recently, and I was starting to get nervous about second semester (not sure how I would teach and breathe so stuffed up all the time :( After blood work and my first MRI, the doctor found no blood issues, but found MAJOR nasal blockage issues from the CT scan- I'll spare you from all the yucky details- but basically, even with allergies under control, I cannot breathe... so I am on intense meds right now- 3 different nasal sprays and 5 different pills- to address and hopefully reduce all the blockage keeping me from air. If those don't work, I will probably seek laser surgery this summer. I have seen over and over why the Father called me to Vietnam this past year- and yet again, I am so thankful for the opportunity to have this quality care. I am overwhelmed to be His daughter, to know that He cares for every detail- big and small- and to trust Him as my divine Healer!
Well, I hope to share more stories and pictures in the next weeks. Our conference officially starts on Wednesday the 28th and goes through February 4th. I'm really looking forward to the speakers, worship times, and fellowship with believers. I'm also seeking the Father's plans for this next year- and would appreciate your thoughts for me in that area. Ok, off to cuddle with the tigers, ride an elephant, and experience "The Flight of the Gibbon" (is that a monkey?!... The Amazing Race season 3 did that)!!
